The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
•Provide expert advice to the Business Manager on Human Resources matters such as the application of current employment legislation, policies and processes as they apply to the employees and contractor community within the Brownfield operations.
•Maintain a high level of awareness of the Aberdeen market and competitor company’s actions to ensure employee attraction and retention.
•Develop and implement manpower strategies which meet the company’s requirements
•Develop and manage terms and conditions of employment for the contractor workforce to meet the requirements of employment legislation and compliance with the client requirement.
•Maintain up-to-date awareness of contractor workforce remuneration and terms of engagement within the engineering industry and make recommendations to Senior Management on any changes required.
•Assist in the selection and management of third party manpower suppliers and ensure they comply with all Company / client directives, processes and procedures.
•Ensure the contracts with third party manpower suppliers are maintained to ensure the effective utilisation of contractors for the business.
•Ensure documentation in connection with insurance liability is in place for all third party manpower suppliers.
•Monitor and audit the performance of third party manpower suppliers.
•Provide input to tenders / bids as required.
•Assist in overseeing the maintenance of the Human Resources database and personnel files.
•Provide for the successful implementation and consistent application of Worldwide Human Resources standards.
•Collaborate with Base Senior HR Adviser, HR Business Manager, Group Compensation and Benefits Manager, and the Training and Development function to ensure consistent approach to staff issues: in particular, retention and development of personnel.
•Support the implementation of Corporate initiatives eg. Performance Management and Appraisal system for staff personnel.
•Manage the competency process for staff and contractor personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
CIPD qualified.
Extensive background in an engineering business and understanding of contractor workforces.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Strong open communicator who collaborates to achieve business success.
Willing to travel extensively.
High quality leadership skills.
