The Role:
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the assigned Brownfield packages of work and for ensuring that the work is planned and executed in accordance with the company’s project execution plan and HSE/OI policy.
Act as the senior project focal point for all issues associated to the assigned packages. This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager. The position forms part of the management team to define, tender, review, comment and implement the project process requirements from FEED through to execution.

Duties:

Maintain the 'stage gate' processes through all phases of the project delivery system
To work in accordance with the company’s project department management system
Review of contractor’s design/engineering documentation.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant codes, standards and procedures
Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans
Manage the packages of work in accordance with the cost estimate and schedule
Ensure delivery of all aspects of Contractor’s discipline design, specification and procurement of the project to cost, schedule and quality criteria
Plan and maintain the contractor’s discipline progress of the project
Report periodically progress status to the line and function reporting lines
Ensure all interfaces to engineering disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered
Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and contractors
Provide input to the Main Scope Contractor in relation to all relevant engineering and construction matters
Review comments from the Certifying and Verification Authority on design issues
In conjunction with project planner, maintain detailed and accurate schedule, including identification of critical path activities, and provide focus on critical activities
In conjunction with project cost engineer, contribute to cost reviews, spend forecasting and estimating
Assist Engineering Manager in maintaining good dialogue with external stakeholders and internal management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of maintaining detailed and accurate scheduling, including identification of critical path activities, and providing focus on critical activities.
