The Role:
BUILDING ESTIMATOR – WEST PERTH, WA – $$ EXC – STAFF OPPORTUNITY – EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO INFLUENCE THE GROWTH OF YOUR DEPARTMENT
AUSTRALIAN VISA / RESIDENCY REQUIRED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY

Our Client is a diverse and dynamic contracting organisation who specialise in the delivery of remote construction projects, responsible for the delivery of permanent and temporary Accommodation Villages, Offices, Workshops, Warehouses and other associated non-process infrastructures on Mining & Oil and Gas projects.

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with previous experience of on-site construction / off-site construction projects. The role will report into the Business development manager.

Scope of Duties:
 Consistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry.
 Review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are correct.
 Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc
 Conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.
 Delegate activities to the Quantity Surveyor.
 Calculate and prepare quantities in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor.
 Source subcontractors & suppliers capable of complying with tender
 Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.
 Liaise with client on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tender.
 Compile relevant tender information into Benchmark & estimate price.
 Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tender.
 Review and provide feedback to Senior Managers regarding contract details relevant to the company’s ability to deliver under the contract and commercial contract exposure.
 In-conjunction with Senior Management, participate at contract negotiations.
 As necessary provide support and respond to tender queries made by project team personnel.
 Delegate tasks to direct reports in line with skill, knowledge and ability.
 Maintain sound and cooperative working relationship with existing clients.
 Actively promote the company’s growth and development through the identification of and participation in business initiatives and opportunities.
 Keep up to date and abreast of relevant industry factors.
 Utilise personal and professional skills, relationships and knowledge for the advancement of Outback Constructors of Australia.
 In-conjunction with Quantity Surveyor, prepare, review and implement procedures and work instructions.


Essentials for this role:

A strong and clear understanding of First Principle Estimating Concepts
4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field) and
5-8 years of related work experience, including capital cost estimating experience.
An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers
