The Role:
Building Maintenance Technician

Salary: (dependant on qualifications & experience)
Location: Workington
Contract: Full-time

The role of the Building Maintenance Technician is to maintain company facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Complete day to day maintenance activities across the company facilities, recording all activities within the maintenance log.

* Liaise with the Business Services Manager on Building Maintenance issues

* Manage on a day to day basis the building maintenance.

* Liaise with Contractors on building maintenance issues.

* Monitor the safety performance of Contractors working in company facilities.

* Monitor the progress of Contractors.

* Monitor and manage consumable stock levels.

* Raise purchase orders for building maintenance activities.

* Prepare rooms for events including moving furniture.

* Ground maintenance activities i.e. litter picking, basic gardening activities.

* Completing basic delivery and collection duties using works transport.

* Maintenance of Company vehicles and weekly safety checks i.e.: cleaning, checking oil, water etc.

* Any other duties as identified by the Business Services Manager.

* Paint/Re-Decorate interior areas of centres when required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Have a sound knowledge of Building Maintenance Activities.
Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing, with customers, contractors and other professionals.
Have a sound knowledge of the Risk Assessment process.
Hold a clean Driving Licence.
Ability to manage own time and prioritise health and safety issues.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Time served in a building maintenance trade.
* Previous experience, of working and liaising with Contractors.
* Previous knowledge/experience with building maintenance systems.

Personal Qualities

Good communication skills with a diverse range of personnel

The ability to work independently and on own initiative

The ability to be flexible and adaptable in a range of situations

Good time management.
