The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
Building Services Design Engineer
Reports too Senior / Lead Engineer
Production of design and detail drawings to the appropriate standard and in accordance with the client’s specification.
Produce supporting calculations to the appropriate standard in support of the designs and detail drawings and in line with the project specification.
Liaise with the Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer to resolve design problems and answer technical queries.
Assist Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer in the undertaking of site surveys.
Attend design related meetings in support of the Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer.
Assist the Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer in the selection of appropriate proprietary plant and equipment and check that such equipment meets the required duty.
Assist Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer in all project related Q.A. matters, updating of Project Diary etc.
Experience in mechanical design of building services including steam, condensate, water, compressed air, bottled gases.
Experience in drafting system / engineering flow diagram under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
Experience producing the production of detail designs
Competent user of Inventor
Experience of building services design for nuclear sites/facilities
Experience delivering Design work for Major Projects at the Nuclear Site.
Experience of working on projects for Sellafield site and conversant with design processes, procedures and standards.
Experience producing building services calculations in accordance with CIBSE guides
User of MathCAD
User of AutoCAD
Experience producing mechanical documentation to support designs i.e. outline installation method statement, Design Risk Assessment.
Holds or previously security clearance and monitored/classified worker.
Minimum Qualifications:
HNC in a related Engineering discipline together with a time served apprenticeship.
Preferred Qualification:
Degree in a related Engineering discipline.
5 years minimum of Engineering experience, (or 2 years with degree qualification) of which 1 years should be within the Nuclear Industry.
