The Role:
Act as Interface between Asset Team, Finance and Planning
· Act as guardian and point of contact for all data within:-
- Life of Field
- Reserves
- Investment cases
- Economic models
· Co-ordinate the timely preparation and delivery of the annual Internal and JV Work programme and Budget on behalf of the relevant Asset Manager in line with the finance team annual reporting timetable.
· To ensure compliance with Group Accounting policy and Statutory legislation as well as underlying JOA obligations.
· Support relevant Asset Manager and budget holders during annual budget process in relation to Production, Capital, Operating and Departmental costs. Interface with shared services team with respect to cost allocations.
· Assist and provide support to relevant Asset Manager in respect of providing monthly, production, operating expense and capital expenditure reports and providing explanations/commentaries for variances from plan to the JV Accounting Team Leader for review and on pass to the Group Financial Reporting Team by work day 6.
· Co-ordinate preparation of asset monthly reports
· Attend key periodic Operations and Production meetings and provide finance and business support input as appropriate.
· Communicate regularly with JV Accounting team as appropriate with respect to operational updates impacting the business
· Attend periodic management re-forecast review meetings and present update on behalf of asset manager
· Liaise with the Facilities Management, Drilling and Subsea Cost Controllers and coordinate timely receipt of accurate Value of Work Done and forecast information.
· Collation and quality control of inputs to, and generation of, the Asset re-forecasts and related communication material in accordance with Business Planning cycle. Delivery of re-forecast data to the JV Accounting Team Leader for review and on pass to the Group Financial Reporting team by work day 1.
· Ensure that all commercial arrangements are correctly reflected in business plans/forecasts. Interface with Legal and Commercial as appropriate.
· Work with the relevant Asset Manager to ensure AFE’s and supplements are raised and approved in a timely manner. Interface with AFE tracking function within JV Accounting Team.
· Interface with planning group with respect to the maintenance of the economic model for each asset and providing key economic inputs
· Preparation of Ad hoc analytical data
· Co-ordinate Joint Venture Meetings – arranging meetings, providing hand-outs and taking minutes
· Work closely with the Senior JV Accountant and the Group Financial Reporting team to deliver quality information in the most efficient manner possible.
· Participate in workgroups and projects around strategic initiatives as required
· Develop and administer an improved capital expenditure prioritisation process
· Develop, implement and support cost control initiatives. Use of trending techniques and tools such as Xcelius
· Provide ad-hoc management information and decision and risk analysis support to support groups such as Strategic Supply

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
· Pro-active and flexible, able to respond positively to challenge and ad-hoc requests
· Able to work with minimum supervision and dependable
· Produces quality work and to a high presentation standard
· Ability to contribute to the team but equally work on own initiative
· A motivated self starter with business acumen
Relevant oil and gas industry experience
· Proven analytical skills
· Extensive Excel knowledge
· Use of trending tools such as Xcelius
· Working knowledge of taxation and economics
· Drives effective information sharing, with the ability to build networks and use a range of contacts
· Good analytical capability
· Good planning and organisational skills, SMART working methods and can demonstrate personal effectiveness and delivery to deadlines in previous roles Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results through planning, organising and persistence
· Ability to articulate views in a concise and constructive manner
· University Graduate with relevant degre

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
· Qualified or part qualified accountant - preferred
