Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products

The Role:
Based in Aberdeen and reporting to the Business Application Team Lead, the post holder will work closely with all functions of the business, predominantly in Aberdeen but also covering the Uxbridge office when required. They will also work in close coordination with the IS Action Centre and other IS support and project teams.

This is a varied position and the post holder will be required to work with a range of technologies and applications.


INTERNAL: IS Management both in the UK and Calgary, Key Operational and Business Contacts in Aberdeen, Norway and Uxbridge and the IS team both in the UK and Calgary, including the Action Centre



• Safety - Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy

• Leadership - Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with values at all times. Readily accepts accountability

• Financial - Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.

• Technical/Functional - In line with ITIL framework, assists the business users, resolving issues with the Business Applications portfolio. Provide active management of the call queue and initial response to the user, ensuring Service Level Targets are met. The post holder will own the Application Inventory with responsibility for production software release, through ITIL Change Management. Provide the Business Applications Team Lead with call reporting measurements and statistics. Monitor and report application software licencing and entitlements.

• Collaboration - Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Continuously develops ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complies with project management disciplines, effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews

• Capability Development - Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning

• People Processes - Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.

• Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required


• Degree Qualified in a Computer Science Qualification or similar Experience in role
