The Role:
Business Architect
1. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE To engage with internal and external customers to understand the business/technology strategies and the challenges present within the industry. Conduct analysis to determine the best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement.
2. KEY ELEMENTS OF ROLE Provide the overall direction, guidance and definition of business architecture to effectively support the business strategy.  Responsible for creating business architecture models which demonstrate how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organisation. Act as a subject matter expert in the development of business architecture framework development, tool suite selection and design and methodology development.  Lead the effort to identify and document capability and initiative needs and strategic prioritisation into business architecture deliverables. Be able to identify tactical approaches for achieving goals and for providing a roadmap approach to delivery of the business problems/opportunities. Work closely with IT architecture team in developing an IT framework that aligns with the business plan.  Ensure solutions developed across the organisation are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits). Be able to communicate the system integration vision and strategy to appropriate parties. Ensuring that the technical aspects of the program are accepted by the stakeholders. Apply and utilise business modelling methods to ensure deliverables can be recreated and used as a corporate knowledge resource available to project level initiatives and to support executive decision making. Evaluate and present information that will facilitate effective and timely decision-making through written and oral communication materials that effectively summarise findings with recommendations. Participating in the planning and execution of projects that move ideas through proto-typing phase and into delivery Working with others to find opportunities to showcase ideas/Innovation for meeting the emerging business pipeline Working with technical and business teams to evaluate new and emerging technologies, vendors and business models
