The company has been providing packaging solutions to the healthcare industry for more than four decades. pharmaceutical, medical and veterinary packaging films in the European markets

The Role:
The Pharma Packaging Business Development Manager / Sales & Marketing Manager will shape and implement the business' strategy as well as lead sales efforts and market visits throughout the region. Assessment and anticipation of competitive forces and positioning of products for sustainable growth will be a key component of this role. Working with a variety of cross-functional teams the Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in launching new products, services, and other initiatives.

As a Pharma Packaging Business Development Manager / Sales & Marketing Manager your main duties will involve:
• Customer & End-user Sales Visits: Prioritize and lead visits to key direct customers and end users, to position products, promote sales and gather market intelligence.
• Market Analysis: Compile information from public and private information sources to identify attractive customer and application segments. Support new product development activities with market research by conducting customer interviews, attending industry events, etc. to understand customer needs. Translate customer needs into new product development ideas
• New Customer Acquisition: Utilize market research to identify, prioritize and win new customers as well as market new products to customers.
• New Product Development: Use market insights to initiate and lead new product development projects. Develop go-to-market strategies and plans to launch new products. Use analytical tools to maximize value derived by customers and value captured by the company.
• Competitor Analysis: Monitor the activities of competitive materials suppliers as well as competitive distributors. Draw insights from information and run scenarios to develop appropriate competitive responses. Work with R&D to analyze competitive materials to uncover disadvantages that may be exploited by field marketers, salesmen and channel partners.
• Marketing Communications: Develop and manage marketing communications programs for each market segment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in business and/or Science or Engineering is preferred. Must have an engineering background or degree and/or relevant experience working in industrial manufacturing operations, R&D operations or related technically complex industries.
• Business Development experience is desired; Pharma Packaging Sales & Marketing experience desired; preference will be given to candidates with a background in selling / marketing to the pharmaceutical and/or medical industry or with relevant experience in those industries.
• Experience in domains such as pharmaceutical drug stability, drug formulation, excipients, drug delivery systems, contract research, packaging design and/or drug dossier development would be a definite plus.
