The Company:
Our Client oversees and manages all the operations associated with major LNG projects.

The Role:
Our leading client is currently seeking a Business Lead to be based in Doha on a residential basis.

To ensure that the project obtains the services needed to achieve project goals related to cost, schedule, procurement, materials management, contracting, and reporting.

Key Result Areas:
• Establish control systems and monitor project performance in the areas of cost control, schedule control, change control, progress measurement, procurement, materials management, contract formation, and contract administration; provide advice as necessary to make certain company’s objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate project change control system. Review and endorse all Project Management of Change Requests, and contractor change orders / variation requests.
• Coordinate input for the project into the overall Work, Program and Budget.
• Ensure alignment between the project controls, procurement and contracting functions; ensure alignment with the Venture functional counterparts, other project functional groups, and management.
• Coordinate project reporting process, including monthly, weekly, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:
• Works effectively within established procedures, or creates and endorses new procedures as necessary to further develop the client Project Management philosophy.
•Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.

Communications and Working Relationships:
• Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
• Interacts effectively with client management and external stakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other entities to discuss project practices and issues.
• Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence, fairness.
• Manages a number of people and is responsible for the development and mentoring of the staff.

Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
• Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost effective service.
• Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
• Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
• Has autonomy over scheduling and planning of own work; organizes efforts of work group to achieve overall efficiency.
• Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in technical field of study (Engineering preferred)
• Good written and verbal communication skills - Good supervisory skills
• Ten (10) years specific involvement in project controls, contracting and procurement in a project environment including five (5) years experience with process facilities. Experience working on both lump sum and reimbursable projects is preferred. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education. International experience, especially in Qatar or the Middle East, is preferred.
