Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
To be the UK market place supplier of choice for WA (Wiring Accessories) & KNX (Intelligent building system), to improve the general market place position to No.2 by growing market share through specification and developing a strategic relationship with Consultants, Contractors, S.I’s and Wholesalers

Key Duties and responsibilities include:

Agree and meet the company annual budget
Proactively support the Sales Teams in conjunction with the Regional Manager
Take an active role as part of the Senior Management Team
Develop and implement the strategies and policies of the business, communicating effectively at all levels, promoting a ‘One Team’ view to the business
Manage all disputes to effective resolution
Carry out annual appraisals, assist with the creation and delivery of development plans and input to succession planning
Carry out a reasonable duty of care for the welfare, H&S of all team members and employees
Carry out high quality visits to existing and potential customers, especially designated target and designated existing accounts
Work with the companies Group Account Management team to maximise global opportunities, within targeted international companies
Working with others, take key commercial decisions
Ensure that the CRM system is maintained and used correctly and is appropriate for the needs of the business
Complete forecasting and reporting in an accurate and timely manner, as required by the business
To provide product forecasting and competitor intelligence
To ensure that all sales tools are maintained in a professional manner
Ensure that the Teams product knowledge is maintained at the highest standard in line with requirements and expectations of the business, to ensure capability to sell the product portfolio
Carry out sales demonstrations to customers as required
Work closely with both the internal teams and other parts of business to maximise opportunities
Build good personal relationships with customers, creating an atmosphere of trust and cooperation
To create the best possible Channel Partners, S.I’s, ensuring that they receive the necessary training and support to the highest standards
Represent the company in the best possible light to customers by exhibiting the highest standards of values & behaviours
Attend and organise Sales Conferences, Exhibitions, customer entertainment and company events as may be reasonably required on a national or international basis, that may require overnight stays away from home
Ensure competitive market place pricing and positioning
Define and agree target market place for KNX and WA in the UK with agreed value proposition, growth strategy and actions
Measure, monitor and maintain new direct or indirect customers
Ensure all sales leads are captured within the business and proactively acted upon
Implement global BU strategy aligned with UK strategy and local market place conditions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Suitable candidates must have a building services background (BMS, Lighting etc) and have experience of defining sales strategies
Candidates must have a minimum of a HNC in a relevant engineering qualification
Flexibility on travel will also be required
