The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Hybrid & Electrification Purchasing Team manages the interface between Product Development, Research, Engineering and the purchasing community to ensure supplier sourcing, cost, quality and timing are all delivered against plan. This is a key role in identifying and delivering new technology projects and programmes and offers a unique and challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development.

Key Responsibilities: -
* Represent the Purchasing function at the component/project/ programme meetings as required
* Engage with Tier 1's and SME's to research and attract innovation and new technologies to JLR
* Responsible for supplier research, selection and negotiation design to enable best value for piece cost, quality and investment
* Create value for JLR in the development of new technologies through engagement with Tier 1's and SME's
* Create and drive the Sourcing Plan (ESWP) for the new technology/vehicle projects/programmes, ensuring time and cost targets are delivered and liaising with PD, Research, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance and Programme teams where required
* Manage and protect JLR's IPR in the early stage of collaborations
* Ensure the supply chain delivers against the programme GPDS requirements (i.e. PSW @TT, recognition of risks and opportunities against programme status, supplier commodity timing plans)
* Identify potential roadblocks and devise effective strategies to overcome these, through cooperation and influence at all levels
* Ensure the application, development and improvement of Purchasing Processes, Policies & Procedures and IAP/SOx req.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have experience in managing complex projects across a wide range of stakeholders with the ability to work to strict deadlines and to drive others to meet commitments; effective cross-functional team working experience; be adaptable to changing circumstances, with experience managing conflicting priorities; finds problem solving a rewarding experience.
In addition to the above, they should also have effective time management (working to deadlines etc), personal initiative, confidence to operate/engage at all levels, business acumen and be competent in MS Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint). Ideally educated to graduate level or equivalent, but not essential.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Professionally qualified, i.e. educated to Degree or CIPS Level 7
