The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
To supervise a team of Buyers and provide support for Purchasing Management, deputising in their absence and covering all aspects of Purchasing and Man-Management skills and duties. To procure a range of commodities in accordance with the Purchasing procedures with focus on strong commercial acumen and account management skills to deliver departmental objectives specific to quality, cost and delivery.
Supervise Buyers in support of their day to day activity and objectives.
 Represent the section at ‘open-to-go’ and TVM meetings and co-ordinate new model programme activities.
 Deputise for Purchasing Management, to include day to day running of the Purchasing Department.
 Attend meetings and provide presentation of Purchasing status and metrics.
 Coordinate and manage with SPM quality resolutions for the section, ensuring quality improvements are implemented faster and more robustly, attending relevant meetings.
 Mentor new starters and ensure that departmental induction training is effectively completed.
 Provide Finance with information to enable setting of programme financial targets. Establish and verify cost movement detail in order to accurately populate the Cost Roadmap.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally the successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, a full member of CIPS or at least working towards it.
 The individual should hold a full driving licence, passport and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require it.
 Extensive Purchasing experience ideally within a manufacturing environment is required; however, of greater importance is the individual’s aptitude and commitment to rapidly assimilate the needs of the role and to be quickly performing in the role, to a high standard.
 A competent understanding of the Microsoft suite of office tools would be advantageous.
