The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

The Role:
This role will be accountable for the delivery of work to the end of achieving the successful implementation and execution of CP Strategy for Turnaround related to services and materials.
To that end, detailed tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

Create contracts for identified service needs
Procure materials (long lead and transactional needs as requested by business)
Manage and execute bid packages and commercial bids
Create value identification and documentation as available
Use experience and expert knowledge to assist the team in the evaluation of different approaches and local circumstances to develop more effective ways of managing spend which can be practically implemented
Ensure compliance with established procurement strategies, agreements, policies and procedures covering the identified service families
Responsible for the execution of sourcing strategy workshops and subsequent implementation of defined strategies
Develop contract management plans for key material & service contracts
Procurement of goods and service for the Project CSU Maintenance team.
Involves interaction with key clients and peers to ensure daily priorities are met to maintain reliability of the operation.

As part of this role:

Work jointly with Project Base Plant site buyers to identify procurement opportunities that leverage site work with Turnaround work.
Preparation and execution of tactical service contracts for Turnaround activities.
General materials procurement for maintenance and operations
Provide commercial expertise to clients and ensure that corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.
Procurement processes bid preparation & evaluation, recommendations, contract execution and administration.

Working Conditions:
Overtime required as dictated by operational needs
Office setting

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
CPP or equivalent certification a definite asset
Experience in Oil and Gas or related industry
Good relationship management skills
Strong commercial skills
Previous situational experience (specifically with Turnarounds or projects) is an asset
Experience of strategic sourcing (demand analysis, market analysis, strategy formulation)
Experience of Supply Chain Analysis desirable
Exposure to SAP ERP system (particularly purchasing) would be an asset
Proficiency with MS office tools (Excel, Word & Outlook)
Ability to work across ERP’s and various IT tools
7+ years experience in Contract Management for services in maintenance/operations
* Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management policies and procedures is required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Certifications are considered an asset, but not required
Well organized and able to manage competing priorities
Effectively participate in a cross business / cross functional teams
Engage and elicit the support of locations / key stakeholders (understand the needs, get compliance)
Influence the business processes to enable more value to be delivered from spend
Ability to develop and present sound business cases to senior leadership in support of planned strategies
Demonstrate the value improvements delivered
