The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
Our client is looking for a Buyer who can provide purchasing support for their 2 large scale LNG projects.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Place and administer routine and complex purchase orders (e.g. project purchases, engineered items, drilling material, stock replenishment orders).
• Work with customers and suppliers as needed to clarify requisition requirements and specifications.
• Prepare request of information/proposal/quotation documents, bid tabulations, recommendation for award on purchases not covered by existing contracts
• Ensure proper terms and conditions are included on all purchase orders.
• Negotiate with suppliers on various commercial and operational matters related to purchase orders.
• Resolve complex problems and independently takes appropriate action within delegation of authority limits. Provides status information on all outstanding requisitions.
• Ensure project purchasing activities are consistent with purchasing policies and philosophies
• Coordinate material movements from suppliers with Expeditors, Shore Base, Logistics Team and or freight forwarder
• Understand policy and responsibility of ordering hazardous material
• Understand policy and responsibility of export compliance regulations
• Monitor and manage cycle time purchase order delivery.
• Uses eProcurement and ERP systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you will have the following:

• Engineering degree or associated trade qualification are highly regarded
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer, preferably in the oil and gas or resources industry
• Strong operational spares and mechanical, electrical, drilling material procurement background
• Proficient in use of integrated ERP systems e.g. SAP, JDE
• Proficient use in eProcurement Systems
• Possess good negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage and interact effectively with suppliers
