The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
A new site based opportunity has arisen for a Buyer working on a 28 days on and 28 days off schedule on Barrow Island. Depending upon experience level, you may be required to undergo system training and onboarding with offsite Procurement team (based in Perth) prior to starting rotational work.

In this position you will provide field buying and expediting services in support of Project construction and commissioning activities which include:
• Negotiates favorable terms (pricing and delivery) with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
• Coordinates with Project personnel to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
• Actively monitor progress of purchase orders and provide status information to Supervisor and other Project personnel.
• Proactively expedite and resolve delivery problems with suppliers.
• Ensure appropriate Project Procurement Procedures, Processes, Policies are adhered to.
• Coordinate with offsite Procurement team (based in Perth, Western Australia) on ensure more complex material requirements are ordered in a timely manner.
• Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education
• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Experience
• 5+ Years work experience as a Project buyer required. Experience with an integrated project management system is an advantage. Experience with IPMS system is a significant advantage.
Preferred Skills
• Microsoft Office Skills including intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel. Proven experience in commercial negotiations.

Personal Attributes
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail is critical.
• Must be a self-starter who enjoys working as part of a team. Must have a high energy level and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be flexible and able to easily adjust to changes in a very dynamic work environment.
• Must be willing to work a rotational assignment in a remote field environment.
