The Company:
Our Client is a prestigious manufacturer of sports and racing cars. The company designs and builds race and production automobiles of light weight and fine handling characteristics.

The Role:
•To Ensure components/services are sourced in the most optimum manner for the specific project/department
•To maintain a supplier base acceptable for our industry
•To establish project/department procurement as designated
•To support department colleagues as and when necessary
Role Responsibilities:
•To source and procure components/services
•To assist in further development of existing suppliers
•To assess potential suppliers both technically and commercially
•To provide support to assess and report on new technology/services and applications
•To assist with proposal costings, as required
•To ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures
•To assist in day to day running of the Purchasing Department and all activities associated with it

Key duties/responsibilities

•To liaise with Clients and their suppliers to ensure adequate interface
• To liaise directly with the Clients as and when necessary, on all commercial aspects relevant to this project

•To undertake costdown activities as directed bu the Team Leader Commodity Supervisor/Principal Buyer
•To assess existing suppliers with the aim to reduce supplier base

To liaise with internal customer departments to ensure adequate interface

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Certificate of Higher Education in Engineering/Business Studies or equivalent
•Purchasing in a manufacturing environment knowledge of manufacturing technologies (not necessary for central post)
•PC literate with current software
•Manufacturing of fast moving consumer goods, general engineering, aerospace. Central only - manufacturing and service industries
•Communicative, resourceful, flexible and ambitious

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Higher National Diploma in engineering/ Business Studies or equivalent, CIPS
•Automotive related, MRO
•Basic understanding of engineering/manufacturing drawings
•European language would be an advantage.
