The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Senior Buyer Powertrain Engines Manage the sourcing of a range of specified commodities to the piece price and investment targets. Use economic and commercial leverage to negotiate with suppliers in order to develop lower cost opportunities and achieve cost reduction targets. Support the new product cost target setting process. Manage APQP ,interrogte timing plans to deliver Parts Submission Warrant to programme timing deliverables and supplier capacity planning for current and future projects. Cost Management through various development programs in order to minimise cost creep. Participate in VA/VE and Lean Manufacturing workshop activities with the preferred supply base as directed. Benchmarking existing and potential suppliers and technologies. Monitoring of raw material and currency movement. Management of Supplier Relationships. Development of Supplier and Commodity strategies and report out.

Skills Preferred:
IT, Numeracy, Literacy CIPS, matrix roles

Experience Required:
Minimum 6-10 years Purchasing experience peferably in a Manufacturing Enviroment, Project Management Engineering or Purchasing experience.

Experience Preferred:
automotive or related industry and programme / project management experience - production parts not indirect

Education Required:
A Levels, Degree or MCIPS

Education Preferred:
HNC / HND / First degree

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Analytical, Numerical, Negotiation
- Purchasing or business related
- A Level / HNC

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- IT, Numeracy, Literacy CIPS, matrix roles
