The Role:
Purchase Project Manager / Co-Ordinator: To support a high profile business strategy deployment, an experienced Project Manager / Co-ordinator is required to represent the purchasing function within a fast paced cross functional team in delivering a critical sourcing project. The individual will need to possess a wide breadth of experience & capability to successfully lead & co-ordinate the full scope of requirements to support a flawless project delivery. There will be an expectation for the individual to travel frequently around the UK to ensure all aspects of the supply chain & project delivery are addressed accordingly. A high focus on cost management & control will be required, & involvement in Contractual Negotiations will be a key aspect of the project. Full cross functional involvment will be essential to ensure a complete understanding of project priorities & needs. Implementation of new supply chain solutions will be required to be set up, hence understanding of supply chain processes is essential. As the Purchase Department lead representative, the individual will be required to collate project status reports & present the status/issues to the wider project team & senior management within JLR. Regular 1st & 2nd tier supplier visits will be required to ensure successful implementation of the project needs within a very aggressive project delivery timeframe.

Skills Required:
Strong Cross-Functional working experience & holistic business understanding required. Excellent organisation & project management skills essential. A background in understanding manufacturing process' and environments critical. Strong commercial accumen required as the position will involve being the primary point of commercial contact between JLR and the primary 1st & 2nd suppliers. Experience of contract management required to facilitate novation of existing contracts & creation of new contracts where required with the support of the JLR Legal Dept. Ability to operate within a fast paced challenging environment required to ensure flawless project delivery with a very aggressive timeframe. Negotiation skills. Report generation & presentation skills, confidence & strength of character.

Experience Required:
Demonstrable experience of successful project management and delivery, experience of a fast paced manufacturing industry (preferably automotive) essential, experience of Contract Management, experience of managing multiple tiers of the supply chain, understanding of the cross functional requirements within a manufacturing business, proven negotiation skills, report generation & presentation skills.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of working as a buyer preferrable & experience of physically working within a manufacturing role also preferrable.

Education Required:
PRINCE 2 Project Management

Education Preferred:
CIPS, Engineering or Manufacturing qualifications - experience more essential than formal education for this role.
