The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
The successful candidate will have experience in carrying out electrical and mechanical design of cubicles as well as knowledge of interface engineering between cubicles and plant at Substations.

• To be responsible for the generation of detailed engineering drawings, including but not limited to: General Arrangements, Circuit Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Cable schedules, Cable routing, core sheets, relay cubicle design, label schedules, detailed design specifications, and reports in-line with company quality procedures, National Grid Transmission Procedures, relevant Global industry standards as necessary; incorporating “Safety by Design”, “HAZOP” and “Fit For Build” processes.
• To modify existing project drawings reflecting design changes as detailed by other Engineering Teams.
• To Produce “stage by stage” detailed design documentation.
• To provide CAD support as required by the business.
• To adhere to, maintain and develop documentation within the document management system.
• To provide technical support for Engineering Teams within the target delivery markets.
• To provide clarifications during the cubicle build and installation process.
• To actively participate in design reviews of engineering drawings as necessary within the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Preferred Power Systems engineering related education or the equivalent (HNC minimum qualification)
• Strong coordination skills.
• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external teams and customers.
• Strong design capability and experience working as a circuit engineer within an HV substation environment and extensive knowledge of traditional CAD engineering techniques.
• Demonstrable attention to detail skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Required to visit project sites as and when necessary.

• Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry
• Proven Teamwork and Collaboration skills
