The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This position is for a role within the FEAD (Front End Ancillary Drive) and Sensors & Actuators Team which is part of the Base Engine Department within Powertrain.

The Team has complete responsibility for the design and development of all Jaguar and Land Rover FEAD components and Powertrain related `On Engine & `Off Engines, Sensors, Actuators and Modules and associated mounting brackets from concept design through to volume production.

Primary responsibility is to fulfil role of a CAD design engineer, implementing design solutions with respect to the installation of in-line & Vee engines into both existing & future platforms.

Role will involve circa 70% - 80% pure CAD engineering with remainder of time working closely with the component hardware owners. Expected outcome - maximise synergies enabling cross carline installations solutions & generation of robust hardware designs. This small team is based in Building 17 at Coventry, but provides engineering expertise across all Product Development and Production sites.

The Sensors and Actuators team are based at Coventry, however interaction with teams at any of the Manufacturing or Prototype build sites may be required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Proven capability of CATIA V5 & TCE. Familiarity with vehicle installation requirements & powertrain functionality are essential.
Proven ability to work with cross functional teams with opposing views / requirements is required.
Good team co-ordination & communication skills are essential.
An understanding of powertrain systems, components, practices and the processes involved with system design/development.
Experience of virtual series activities / requirements and reporting out activities.
Current Driving Licence.
A degree or equivalent is preferred.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, pro-active, demonstrates initiative, with ability to work with minimum supervision in a multiple program environment with conflicting requirements delivering under very tight timelines.
Broad knowledge of engineering and production techniques and processes.
Able to demonstrate experience of managing suppliers.
Excellent communication skills.
Good Presentation skills.
PC literate, especially MS office.
Proven ability as a team member.
Prior experience / use of Team Centre is a significant benefit.
Experience of virtual series activities / requirements and reporting out activities.
Prior experience / use of Team Centre is a significant benefit.
Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing process is advantageous but not essential.
