The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This is a CAD Engineer position, working alongside an existing Thermal and Aerodynamics CAD engineer, to support the design and build of Aerodynamic and Water Management full size test properties. The suitable CAD Engineer will be able to carry out specialist design, modification and assembly of vehicle components and systems to replicate full scale future vehicle models (aero bucks) to support physical aerodynamic test & development in full scale wind tunnel facilities. In addition the candidate will support rapid prototype component design to support Thermal, Aerodynamic and Water Management testing.

Skills & Experience Required:
CAD design and data transfer processes (in particular Rapid Prototyping). Knowledge of body engineering and fabrication techniques. Knowledge of surface modelling and rendering would be an advantage. Must have a good working knowledge and experience in using Catia V5. Ideally will have a good working knowledge and experience in TeamCentre. A working knowledge of RP processes and materials. Must be enthusiastic and willing to adapt and learn. Ideally educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline. Ideally be familiar with the latest CAD software tools and techniques.

This position is based in our offices in Gaydon although the candidate may be required to work occasionally at the Whitley site.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An enthusiasm to adapt and learn is key to this position. Experience in working with skilled workshop staff and an understanding of the limitations of various prototyping techniques and materials. Must be able to work to programme deadlines and plan workload in a disciplined manner. The ability to use ALIAS, ICEM or similar surfacing toolsets would also be an advantage together with any previous surfacing knowledge. A knowledge of rapid prototyping methodologies and processing preferred with a familiarity with a PD workshop environment and prototype vehicle design.
