The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Cabin Trim Durability CAE Analyst. Development of Trim Component Stiffness and Strength performance for New Product using CAE to support design confirmation, test support and test-to-CAE correlation. Update and modification of door trim, interior trunk trim, and upper and lower interior trim body components models. Models will be created to run in LS-DYNA and ABAQUS and shall take account of all relevant component areas that affect local body area/body component to be analysed. Analyses will include stiffness, local strength and permanent deformation. The analyst shall be responsible for: Identifying and reporting issues identified from analysis to a Body CAE team through the CAE Trim Durability Team Leader. Identification of solutions to achieve stiffness and strength targets, and pursuit of design maturation with the interior body design and analysis teams. Documentation of all work carried out in line with local procedures, and preparation of 'lessons learnt' documentation to provide benchmark knowledge for future work on other programmes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Hypermesh, or ANSA for finite element model creation. Ability to work fast and accurately as a member of a small team. LS-DYNA implicit and explicit ABAQUS non-linear (including contact) implicit and explicit PC skills - word, powerpoint, excel.
Demonstrates most of the knowledge and skills required. Very competent in body system and component development using engineering experience and CAE tools. Requires supervision and/or assistance only where the issues or situation faced is highly complex and/or business critical. Plastic materials knowledge and experience
Educated to a minimum of degree level in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical subject.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Use of DoE techniques to support component issue resolution. Use of LS-OPT or similar software to develop solutions and optimise designs. Geometry creation in Catia. Excel macro programming.
Familiarity and experience of JLR working practices relating to CAE methods and processes. Familiarity and experience of JLR CAD , TCE & Digibuck Familiarity of JLR IT system
