The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Development of automotive body structures using FEA, to meet defined performance targets, specifically for crash modes and restraint sub-system. Able to run baseline CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the Body CAE Crash Team & Program Leader in an efficient manner. Able to work effectively with design teams to develop solutions within defined deadlines and time constraints plus have an awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Following software skill are essential: Ls-Dyna & Oasys suite (Primer, T-His, D3plot) Hyperworks (mesh, graph, view) PC Skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to carry out development of automotive body structures using FEA, to meet defined performance targets, specifically; frontal load / impact and able to build crash models of whole vehicle or sub-system using the *INCLUDES structure. Communicate detailed technical data effectively. Have an awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions. Typically minimum 3 years experience of working in the automotive industry, involved with the development of body structures and/or trims using CAE methods, but less experience may be acceptable. Modelling automotive structures / restraints system (airbag / seatbelt) preferred. Minimum: 2:1 degree-level mechanical engineering or equivalent standard.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent communication and team working skills. JavaScript programming (Macro construction) beneficial. German language. Optimisation (e.g. LS-OPT or SDI methods) JavaScript. Masters Degree preferred.
