The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Braking Virtual Tools team supports the Development of analysis/simulation tools for vehicle dynamics and brake stability control applications. Working directly with the vehicle development and tuning teams to deliver slip control systems including ABS, Stability Control and Terrain Response. Designing and refining bespoke analysis tools and integrating current systems with commercial simulation packages to create a seamless virtual development process. Assisting the system tuning team in control algorithm development using the virtual toolset. Maximise the use of data collection and analysis to direct development and improve correlation between physical and virtual methods. This role will be the key link between the Chassis HiL rigs and the Functional- & Application Engineers delivering the Stability Functionality and Performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a link between SCS HiL, SiL and application teams and Chassis Electronics
• Managing the ABS/ESP software validation process on HIL & SiL over the entire software lifecycle
• Increasing the test facility profitability by identifying new applications and clients, or by developing the overnight and weekend use
• Involving into early phase project development meetings
• Assuring the new technologies and functions are deployed on the HIL & SiL rigs before the programme start
• Managing the HIL & SiL development projects in time, to the cost and quality for Stability Control Systems
• Planning and prioritisation of the HIL resources for ABS/ESP software validation according to the software milestones
• Involved in process and tool chain development for HIL & SiL environments as well as contributing to the process of software validation on HIL and SIL
• Support the deployment of automation tools for HIL testing
• Creation and management of the HIL & SiL models database
• Creation and deployment of HIL trainings to the existing and future HIL customers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS
1. Ability to plan and co-ordinate functional development and validation testing of ABS/ESP software, using both HiL and SIL tools
2. Ability to work with develop HIL hardware and supporting software to meet HIL customers test requirements
3. Ability to work with other teams to plan and build the required HIL facilities for future ABS/ESP development and validation

HiL Rig application to control software development and validation
Understanding of current and future electrical architectures
Development experience of real time control systems
Experience using data analysis techniques

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Expertise in Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow tool chain
Expertise in dSpace tools, specifically ControlDesk and of dSpace hardware architecture
Test automation experience
Development experience of real time control systems
Extensive Stability Control System functions knowledge:
Vehicle dynamics, powertrain and driveline experience also valuable
Knowledge of IPG CarMaker software suite, or similar
Knowledge of CAN, FlexRay and SENT networks
