The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Hybrid Simulation & Modelling Engineer.

Responsible for:
1) Designing and running large simulation experiments for the purposes of optimising the sizing and calibration of hybrid electric vehicles.
2) Making design updates and evolutions of existing Simulink-based vehicle models that are used for the prediction of fuel economy, emissions and vehicle performance.
3) Translating high detail control algorithms into simplified rule-based Simulink control models and implementing into existing vehicle models.
4) Implementing these models into HIL & dyno environments, and troubleshooting their implementation.
5) Creating bespoke Matlab-based tools for the purposes of aiding the target-setting and concept design phase of vehicle development.

Skills Required:
- Ability to model mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems, including hybrid technology.
- Ability to design and run simulation experiments, and document / report-out findings.
- Ability to design sophisticated Matlab code for processing of large quantities of data, and development of GUIs.

Experience Required:
- Simulink & Stateflow modelling experience.
- Matlab coding experience for the purposes of creating bespoke GUI-based tools.
- Modelling of vehicle fuel economy and performance experience.
- Simulink modelling experience.

Experience Preferred:
- HIL comissioning experience. Controller design experience

Education Required:
- Degree level in a related engineering field.
