The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
- Vehicle NVH CAE engineer working in a complex and demanding CAE environment requiring both CAE and NVH in-depth understanding and experience.
- Sub-system CAE models are built into whole vehicle models, correlated, analysed, and then used to identify potential whole vehicle NVH issues.
- The models are then utilised to understand route causes and to identify and verify potential NVH solutions at component and systems level.
- Ability to carry out : -
- Creation and verification of full vehicle NVH CAE models assembled from CoC / Supplier supplied data and sub-system models.
- Application of models to evaluating component and sub-system designs for the vehicle architecture to achive NVH optimised suspension and powerunit/driveline mounting system.
- Definition of load cases to apply to models for NVH attribute assessment e.g. idle NVH, WOT, road noise.
- Interrogation and interpretation of model results; root cause analysis of identified issues; assessment of alternative design proposals; recommendations against pre-determined target levels.
- Prepare and present findings and recommendations to Vehicle/Programme teams at virtual gateways and technical reviews.
- Creation and publication of summary technical reports and design recommendations.
- Liaison with objective test teams in order to correlate models and validate results with measured data
- Experience in solving vehicle models in NASTRAN using solution types 103, 108, 111 and 200.
- Non-linear, vibro-acoustic modelling using NASTRAN or LMS-Virtual Lab would be an advantage.
- Self-motivated engineer with proven inter-personal skills.
- Proficiency required of CAE model creation and use of MSc Nastran, Hyperworks analysis tools.

Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in NVH CAE delivery process including major vehicle programmes
- Good background in general engineering methods and standards
- Good data analysis and PC skills.

Education Required:
- Candidates must have a minimum of HNC/HND in relevant field, ideally educated to Degree level.
