The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powertrain Research support the Environmental Innovation strategy by ensuring that all future diesel, gasoline and hybrid powertrains meet legislative tailpipe emissions requirements, including carbon reduction objectives.
The successful applicant will play a key role by providing CAE services to a technology development project investigating new waste heat recovery technologies, including thermo electric generators (TEG).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skilled in the use of 3D CAE methods (CFD & FEA) for heat exchanger system design and optimisation.
Good understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer principles.
Able to define & acquire model input data for reliable simulation and present analysis results to a wide audience.
Able to trace, identify and correct sources of error or inaccuracy in CAE models.
Good understanding of powertrain operating principles including fluid flow, heat transfer and parasitic loss.
Highly motivated with excellent team working skills and able to deliver with minimum supervision
Experience of vehicle or base engine performance simulation an advantage
Proven success in the application of CAE methods for thermal system design, development & optimisation
Experience of working in a multi diciplinary organisation with interaction across many departments
Extensive experience of model correlation to physical test data
Experience of cooling system and heat exchanger design / development
