The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powetrain CAE provide an analysis service to Powertrain development. This comprises fuel, cooling and intake systems analysis, transmission and driveline and exhaust systems. A vacancy exists for a Finite Element Analyst. Noise Vibration and Harshness, Durability and Performance Emissions and Driveability attributes are covered These activities span the APC, PrePS and Virtual Series product development phases together with supporting Quality and TVM actions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Carry out Durability and NVH analysis of a variety Powertrain systems using Finite Element methods. Construct Finite Element models from CAD geometry. Perform normal mode and forced response analysis. Perform fatigue assessments using stress or strain based techniques. Carry out design optimisation studies. Report results in an accurate and concise manner both verbally and in written form. Able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Proven track record in durability and NVH analysis, preferably in Powertrain systems and engines in particular. Previous use of HYPERWORKS for pre and post processing, the solvers NASTRAN and ABAQUS and Fatigue analyses" Needs Nastran or Abaqus experience, some driveline experience or exhaust system structural analysis experience would be preferable, e.g. NVH, stress analysis.

BSc/MSc Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of Powertrain systems Particularly fuels, cooling, intake, T&D and exhaust systems
Nastran or Abaqus experience, some driveline experience or exhaust system structural analysis experience would be preferable, e.g. NVH, stress analysis.

Experience of solid modelling using either Hypermesh or CATIA Experience of Simlab, Abaqus CAE/Viewer and FEMFAT Proven ability in Finite Element techniques. Previous experience of either NVH or Durability (Static/Dynamic & Thermal) attributes essential. Experience of Powertrain Development & PCS/GPDS. Be able to contribute as part of a team. Flexibility to work on many varied tasks.
