The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powetrain CAE provide an analysis service to the wider Powertrain engineering organisation. A vacancy exists for a Multi-body systems (MBS) analyst to work on Powertrain systems modelling using ADAMS or SIMPACK in support of driveability, NVH and durability attributes specifically for transmission and driveline system development. Methods applied use both the frequency and time domain. These activities span the APC, Pre-PS and Virtual Series product development phases as well as Quality and TVM actions.

Training possibly provided for suitable applicants with experience using other methods/codes who can demonstrate work experience with Powertrain systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in the field of MBS methods
Good theoretical knowledge of vehicle vibration and dynamics
Ability to generate ADAMS and/or SIMPACK models for powertrain system engineering
Application of MBS methods for simulation of vehicle vibration assessments (driveability and NVH)
Development of tools, methods and documentation to enhance departmental capabilities
Generate load data to support FE analysis for vehicle design and development programmes
Report MBS analysis results and communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in written form
Able to contribute as part of a team and have flexibility to work on many varied tasks
Experience of ADAMS or SIMPACK codes
Proven track record and ability in MBS analysis (ADAMS/SIMPACK), preferably in Powertrain systems engineering
Experience in application of MBS techniques to driveability, NVH and durability attributes
BSc/MSc Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of Powertrain systems
Knowledge of transmission and driveline systems
Good understanding of NVH attribute for powertrain and vehicle dynamics
Experience in sub-system analysis of Powertrain Mounting systems and gearboxes, including clutch systems
Full vehicle analysis for NVH and driveability attributes
Frequency domain analysis of rotating systems
Modelling of IC engines an advantage
Experience of Powertrain Development & PCS/GPDS
Candidates from other industries may be considered depending on knowledge and experience.
