The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powertrain Thermo-fluids PAT Leader:
A vacancy exists for a Thermo-fluids attribute leader within the Powertrain analysis team.
The team are responsible for completing fluid flow analysis to support design and development of Powertrain component design, including analysis of intake and cooling systems, exhaust manifolds, turbos, aftertreatment and engine combustion systems, covering both 1D and 3D CFD analysis.
The vacancy is for a PAT leader to manage these activities and ensure delivery of the related attributes (performance, emissions, NVH etc).
This will include balancing conflicting Thermo-fluids requirements for optimum solutions across Powertrain systems, ensuring full integration of analysis results into the wider Powertrain and vehicle teams and managing resolution of issues through integration with cross-functional teams.
The role will include DVP planning, facilitating and monitoring progress of analysis and test activities, reporting results at all levels and facilitating meetings to bring people together to manage issue resolution and resolve attribute conflicts.
These activities will span the full design and development lifecycle phases and also support Quality and TVM actions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of Thermo-fluids disciplines and related attributes Familiarity with CAE (1D and 3D) and test methods and the capabilities and limitations of the relevant tools and processes
Proven background in project management and task planning in an engineering environment
Experience of systems engineering and requirements balancing an advantage
Excellent attention to detail and a rigorous approach to information management
Excellent presentation and communications skills
Effective team member, highly proactive, self-motivated, demonstrating personal drive and initiative
Ability to interact with a range of people across and outside the organisation
Detailed knowledge of fluids analysis, CFD and test methods and experience of application would be an advantage.
Experience of requirements balancing, managing attribute conflicts and driving issues to resolution
Experience of project management and task planning in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
