The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for: ¿ Support the creation and development of hybrid and electrified vehicle and system level models to satisfy the current and future requirements of Powertrain. ¿ Use Simulink-based (and other) tools to generate fuel economy, performance, gradeability and durability assessments in support of hybrid and electrification TCDS projects and early stage PCS programmes ¿ Analysis of test data to support benchmarking processes
of competitor vehicles and technologies ¿ Analysis and use of test data from vehicle, system and component testing to support model correlation and validation ¿ Identification of process improvements and creation of processes and best-practice to drive efficiency and robustness ¿ Robust and timely delivery of eTrackers ¿ Creation of Excel/VBA and Matlab based code and tools to aid the wider team with engineering problems ¿ Communication of key findings to various parties within Powertrain Advanced Engineering"

Skills Required:
Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and self-confidence ¿ Experience in modelling vehicles and vehicle systems through a combination of physical and empirical models ¿ Matlab/Simulink skills essential ¿ Experience in Matlab scripting or other programming languages would be beneficial. An awareness of vehicle systems, testing and development ¿ A desire to create and develop new processes ¿ Candidates should be self-motivated, organised and passionate about data-driven engineering. Degree level qualification, or vocational equivalent, preferred. Proficiency with MS Office. Working knowledge of PD processes and TCDS/PCS principles.
Desired experience of Hybrid, Electric and Powertrain systems.

"Experience of Programme Central. Desirable. Knowledge of JLR Hybrid Powertrain systems desirable Knowledge of JLR Electrical systems ¿ desirable ¿ Knowledge of software delivery control plans desirable Knowledge of target setting process desirable Knowledge of FMEA desirable"
Experience Required:
"Experience of Matlab/Simulink and scripting in this or other programming languages Experience of Automotive Hybrid or Power Train Systems in either Product Delivery or Advanced Engineering fields Candidate must be enthusiastic, with a positive approach with the ability to proactively communicate within and outside of the department."
