The Role:
Major Responsibilities:

Lead engine/powertrain analytical design process from concept through to job1, by supporting Virtual Series gateways and NVH issue resolutions
Build the generation of engine and powertrain NVH CAE models according to the Ford global procedures and guidelines, managing IT tools and liaising with component and system supplliers
Conduct linear and nonlinear NVH CAE simulations to predict and optimise engine/powertrain NVH behaviour including bending modes, powertrain mount excitation levels, intake orifice noise, powertrain radiated noise, modal alignment and Drive Line behaviour using CAE tools like Hyperworks, Nastran, ABAQUS, LMS Virtual Lab, AVL Excite, ADAMS, Simpack, Ricardo Wave, GT Power, CFD- Star CD
Conduct engine level analysis including Engine load calculations, loading studies, valvetrain loading, CTF analysis & optimisation, component modal optimisation, mount pad compliance, intake/exhaust manifold analysis, crank damper analysis, gear rattle analysis, hydraulic analysis, piston slap analysis
Work with engine/powertrain engineering teams and suppliers to achieve engine/powertrain NVH targets (including frequency, acceleration, radiated noise, Modal behavior and orifice noise targets)
Report out program status and health charts at Virtual Series gateways
Support NVH PAT meetings, Health Chart assessments, NVH Governance board meetings, Global CAE forums, confeences and training.
Ensure alignment of CAE methods and procedures with global NVH CAE teams
Support vehicle NVH CAE team to utilise vehicle level INCA models
Mentor other NVH CAE teams and suppliers as required

This position may require travel on a European / Global basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Automotive Engineering (preferred) or equivalent
Proven experience of CAE tools & methods as applied to powertrain NVH
Strong drive for results and initiative with a proven track record
Written and verbal communication skills
