The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Capable CAE engineer to integrate into small Advanced CAE methods team to carry out concept CAE activities using powerful optimisation technology which considers multiple attributes (i.e. Crash, NVH, durability), he/she will also be able to use and develop simplified simulation models that can be used to rapidly understand design drivers. Requiring willing and able engineer to assist in developing new CAE technologies.

This will include developing processes for refinement of current methods and longer term development towards Advanced simulation strategic aims

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Solvers:LS-Dyna, Nastran, Abaqus Post /Pre processimg: PRIMER, Hyperwork, ANSA, SFE CONCEPT Familiarity with Design Of Experiment (DOE) studies and understanding of optimisation - especially large scale Multi Disciplinary Optimisations (MDO). Experience in Altair HyperStudy. LS-OPT, modeFRONTIER , Genesis or other optimisation packages. Core engineering skills including, Clear understanding of engineering principles and be ability to understand technical content in reports Should have basic understanding of how a vehicle is created . Must be able to write a technical report and prepare and present relevant presentation material - clear communicator with ability to present on paper and in person. Should be a well-motivated self-starter with little need of continual guidance (overview and goals will be clearly defined and candidate allowed to investigate best possible route to goal) . Comfortable with using standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Team player with ability to work well individually or in the small team.
Ability to communicate with personnel from all other relevant departments
Ability to understand, set-up and post process automotive NVH analyses using Msc Nastran or Abacus Familiarity of Federal and European crash test requirements (legislative and consumer tests eg. FMVSS208, USNCAP, EuroNCAP, etc) Ability to design and author scripts for data processing (Python, perl, C, Fortran, awk, etc)

Vehicle Safety experience and experience of designing an automotive restraints system (possible using MADYMO or LS-Dyna)
Experience in the use of Msc Nastran or Abaqus in modelling automotive NVH loadcases
Experience in the design and challenges of setting up DOE studies
