The Role:
Driveline and Driveability CAE Engineer

Create a readily-accessible suite of models suitable for driveability capability studies and for driveability calibration robustness assessments, based on Ford vehicles with manual driveline.

The models will be suitable to:
Spport driveability target setting with CAE calculations
Spport system and sub-system / component definition and design decisions
Support software design decisions particularly for driveability algorithms
Support calibration of control algorithms to deliver driveability to target
CAE Designer o Agree / define means for distributing and managing driveability models
Support decision-making process for selecting final driveability framework (Simulink, VSM, Dymola)
Build powertrain and vehicle driveability models within the agreed framework
Create mechanism(s) to parameterise the model with best re-use of existing data sources
Export (if required) the models in to Simulink for integration with controller models
Demonstrate means to import excitation data for model (e.g. suite of tip-ins)
Demonstrate means to confirm correlation of model (generally in collaboration with a Dunton driveability engineer)
Provide input to the process of developing, managing and validating CAE models and tool-chains
Examine trade-offs in simulation environment and perform robustness analyses against defined sources of variability

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Relevant Engineering / Science / Controls Degree
High competence with Matlab / Simulink
Experience with driveline models or physical system modelling in a related area
Demonstrated discipline in requirements gathering and structured implementation
Familiarity with model management and distribution tools
Excellent time management skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Willingness to interface globally (Australia, US, EU)
Dymola and Modellica experience
AVL VSM experience
Wave-RT modelling experience
Communication and presentation skills
