The Role:
Lead calibration team in the following responsibilities:-

* Specify performance related hardware for high pressure common rail Diesel engines to meet performance and economy objectives.
* Integrate engine calibration developed on dyno, to meet all commodity objectives.
* Calibrate power-train to provide transient performance to program target.
* Calibrate vehicle emission behaviour to meet program target emission standard whist satisfying other vehicle attribute targets such as combustion noise, driveability and performance.
* Integrate vehicle driveability and calibrate dynamic performance to program objectives.
* Integrate self-test and EOBD monitor calibration to requirements.
* Calibrate power-train for different modes of after-treatment operation.
* Calibrate power-train for environmental conditions including hot, cold and high altitude operation.
* Assist in vehicle/power-train problem identification and resolution. Coordinate calibration communisation, processes and procedures.
* Carry out all testing required to complete calibration DVP and document results.
* Control and Integration of the PCM vehicle calibration for the above attributes and release/distribution of the calibration.
* Working with internal customers to meet their requirements and investigate/resolve issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Relevant experience covering calibration, control system development or application.
* Knowledge of combustion and emission control technologies, working knowledge of Calibration guides and engine management system development process.
* Knowledge and understanding of Diesel combustion with three years demonstrable experience of engine development and/or calibration.
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of calibration processes and tools and classical control theory.
* Educated to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Control or similar relevant disciplines.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Vehicle and control electronics, control strategy, hardware design, after-treatment system engineering.
