The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The EMS calibration engineer is responsible for engine calibration activities, with a wide range of responsibilities that would include Base calibration, Emissions calibration, Driveability calibration and potentially Vehicle Feature calibration (cruise control etc).
The engineer will be involved in software strategy development, calibration and data analysis for Gasoline focused technology.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Self driven with a strong engineering background; will have experience in engine management SW development, excellent team working skills and an understanding of facility, instrumentation and test procedures.
Experience of engine management software and calibration development
Experience of control modelling and simulation (Simulink / Ascet) and Calibration tools
Working knowledge of Gasoline engine / powertrain systems

Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain control systems are considered essential.
Demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment.
Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
Educated to degree level in a suitable engineering discipline, or suitable previous experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of development processes / principles (GTDS/PCS) Good knowledge of Calibration tools and Data Analysis tools (Matlab, INCA, CalSim)
Good PC skills Excel, Word and Project
Working knowledge of Gasoline Hybrid systems
Disciplined approach to planning, prioritisation and evidence generation
Must have driving licence valid for use in the UK
Previous experience of Hybrid systems are considered desirable. A knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial
