The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The EMS control system engineer is responsible for delivery of engine management software activities relating to New and Existing Technologies and Features. They will be the key interface between the project lead, engine management system teams and suppliers. The engineer will lead software strategy development, planning and implementation to support proposed development and test activities for Gasoline focused technology. An ability to direct a small team and act as "System Expert" will also be preferable, but not essential.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Self driven with a strong engineering background; will have experience in engine management SW development, excellent team working skills and an understanding of facility, instrumentation and test procedures. ¿ Experience of engine management software and calibration development ¿ Experience of control modelling and simulation (Simulink / Ascet) ¿ Working knowledge of Gasoline engine / powertrain systems.
Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain control systems are considered essential. Demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment. Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Educated to degree level in a suitable engineering discipline, or suitable previous experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of development processes / principles (JLR GTDS/PCS and/or Ford GPDS)
Good PC skills
Excel, Word and Project
Working knowledge of Gasoline Hybrid systems
Disciplined approach to planning, prioritisation and evidence generation
Must have driving licence valid for use in the UK

Previous experience of Hybrid systems are considered desirable. A knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial
