The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Supporting role on gasoline particulate filter technology development project, through to be ready for application to JLR vehicle programmes if required for Euro6c emissions legislation:
> Liaison with engine, exhaust & controls teams to define targets compatible with emissions capability required.
> Definition and execution of engine dynamometer testing required at JLR to confirm capability of our applications.
> Support for vehicle emissions and durability testing where appropriate.
> Data analysis to support conclusions and recommendations from the work.
Gasoline exhaust emissions after treatment CAE analysis methodology development for GPF technology:
> Work with JLR gasoline exhaust emissions attribute team CAE lead engineer on on-going development & correlation of a new CAE tool (Exothermia Axisuite).
> Liaise with CAE software supplier, JLR exhaust system department, substrate supplier, coating supplier, external test facility and internal test facility / attribute development engineers to obtain physical data for calibration and correlation of the CAE models.
> Work with JLR gasoline exhaust emissions attribute team project engineers on physical emissions testing and CAE analysis to support emissions capability conformation for future gasoline powertrain applications.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Gasoline exhaust emissions system development:
> Engine / Calibration / Emissions / After treatment development project participation (leadership).
> Engine Dyno / Chassis dyno emissions testing. > Gasoline Powertrain Calibration / development aid user skills ~ preferably Bosch EMS.
> Experience of gasoline exhaust after treatment CAE (Exothermia Axisuite = ideal tool to have experience of).
Gasoline exhaust emissions development experience
~ delivering exhaust emissions capability from given hardware + EMS system.
Gasoline powertrain calibration experience
~ Preferably Bosch EMS.
Understanding of mathematical modelling of systems: calibration of model(s) from physical data and then tuning of model to achieve correlation - Exhaust after treatment CAE. Understanding of exhaust after treatment chemistry / particulate filtration. Understanding of passenger vehicle exhaust emissions requirements (legislation). Self motivated team member.
1st Degree in Mathematical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry / Physics.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Chemical engineering / understanding of gasoline three way catalysis / gaseous emissions measurement & analysis. Gasoline combustion system understanding - GDI Particulate Mass emissions formation + measurement understanding. Understanding of gasoline exhaust emissions legislation / certification requirements. Matlab data analysis skills.
Gasoline 3-way catalyst development experience. Gasoline combustion system development experience / including gasoline direct injection. Gasoline DI Particulate Mass emissions formation / measurement experience.
Post Graduate qualification in Mathematical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry / Physics.
