The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the base calibration development activity; planning and managing the delivery of work required on test-beds, in vehicles, and through desktop data analysis and simulation. Calibration tasks will focus on air-charge model development, fuel-path calibration, and knock control to deliver fuel economy and emissions targets. The work requires close co-operation with many other product development areas, including the Base Engine hardware development team and the Controls/Diagnostics section of the department, and will also require coordinating with the engine management supplier.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Extensive in depth experience of gasoline engine management calibration development at a test bed and vehicle level, particularly focused on base calibration development (Air/Fuel Path, Knock control, Fuel economy optimisation)
* Expertise with calibration and data analysis tools (e.g. INCA, Matlab, Concerto etc.)
* Able to demonstrate extensive technical delivery experience, specifically in a calibration environment with state of the art engine hardware
* Highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
* Expertise with calibration and data analysis tools (e.g. INCA, Matlab, Concerto etc.)
* In depth knowledge of EMS Control System strategies
* Good analytical skills & good working knowledge of MS Office software
* Ideally educated to degree level but not required

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of complex gasoline engine control systems, particularly complex air charge control (i.e. VVT/variable valve lift/cylinder deactivation)
* Knowledge and Understanding of OBD requirements and interactions, current and future emissions legislation, supporting Powetrain systems (e.g. Exhausts/Air Intake/Fuel Systems)
* Ability to mentor/influence and lead team members
