The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powertrain Research supports the Powertrain Advanced Engineering Team in delivery of new technologies and develop new concepts to support future powertrain requirements. This role will be based in the Powertrain Controls Research team who test and develop new control concepts as well as provide support to other engine and transmission research projects. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of the future powertrain development. The Research calibration and controls engineer will lead 1-2 key projects aligned to needs and provide day to day support for a wide variety of internal and external research projects. The role requires an individual with strong engine mechanical knowledge along with past experience calibrating engine emissions. Based on past experience the calibration engineer is expected to feed into Calibration and Controls Research forward strategy and ideas generation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Past experience leading technical powertrain projects 2. Proven ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload with minimum supervision.. 3. Microsoft and Google software proficiency 4. Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an understanding of your customer needs. 5. Confident presentation style 6. INCA and MatLab Simulink proficiency. 1. Previous experience calibrating diesel or engines with emissions control - Vehicle / Engine out 2. Strong understanding of embedded automotive engine control 3. Previous experience of working with multiple teams and departments 4. Working understanding of powertrain and engine working principles 5. Experience of presenting work and communicating with personnel at various levels. 1. Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or suitable previous experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1. Automotive industry delivery process experience 2. Bonus skills could include - CANalyser, INTECRIO, AVL PUMA, Other calibration tools. 1. Experience of project management tools, systems engineering processes and familiarity with the programme structures. 2. Experience working on performance and economy testbeds 3. Experience with vehicle emissions testing". 1. Evidence of continued professional development.
