The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Hybrid Calibration team is responsible for supporting specification and subsequent calibration of the hybrid supervisory control software. This control development and calibration is fundamental to the hybrid vehicle, and is responsible for delivery of many attributes and features. The team operates across advanced and delivery timeframes, covering research and delivery programmes. We are investing in the development of Advanced Calibration Methodologies, including Model Based Calibration techniques. This will allow a transition from traditional rig and vehicle based calibration into a model based environment, enabling calibration and verification activities to be completed in an efficient and timely manner. This position combines the engineering domains of mutlibody simulation and vehicle driveability calibration, in order to enable model based vehicle driveability control and calibration optimisation. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop and apply multi body CAE techniques to enable model based vehicle driveability control and calibration optimisation. The vacancy is suited to those wishing to expand their current domain knowledge and expertise into the development of new and novel methods. The individual will be responsible for the development and introduction of model base calibration technique using a virtual engineering environment. This will encompass utilisation and adaptation of existing mutlibody CAE models (Simpack) and controller models (Simulink) into a holistic user friendly environment, enabling the calibration engineer to complete effective virtual calibration.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Desired experience of simulation/CAE is required. Experience of Multi Body Modelling and Simulation, including analysis of Powertrain Mounting systems; gearboxes including clutch systems; IC engines; electric traction motors; driveline systems ¿ Competent in the use of SIMPACK in both the frequency and time domain. Capability to apply these CAE techniques to enhance vehicle driveability control and calibration development, and therefore experience of control and calibration systems would be beneficial (driveability attributes, vehicle evaluation, supervisory control systems, vehicle calibration) ¿ Capable of networking and forming collaborative alliances, to maximise reuse and sharing of methodologies across the company and industry. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively ¿ Enthusiastic, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate initiative and innovation. An ability to manage multiple tasks, with the organisation and drive to follow tasks through to a successful outcome
