The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Thermal Test & Development Engineer. Leads the T&D team from a technical aspect supporting the Engineers with timing, planning, data analysis and reporting to all levels of the business. Leads process developments, cross-car line (XCL) development projects, new technology sign-off and benchmarking exercises with support from the T&D Engineers. Supports the Thermal Technical Specialist with data collation for correlation to CAE methods.
Could also include leading the T&D aspects of vehicle programme(s).


Experience Required
* Experience of Thermal Climatic Wind Tunnel (CWT) and Hot Environment Testing (HET). Experience of Thermal and/or Cooling whole vehicle test work with proven results delivery.
* Proven fleet management and XCL T&D experience in climatic facilities, track testing and in-market (without further training) vital to role.
* Previous vehicle test and/or calibration experience is core to this role.
* Degree in technical subject. Experience of the role type is paramount.

Experience Preferred:

Chartership or working towards chartership preferred (or equivalent certification). Author of or contributor to technical papers. Knowledge of and ideally experience of CAE simulation methods and tools for vehicle development.

Education Required:
.Willingness to work flexible hours to cover CWT 7 day/week shift patterns where required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1.Detailed knowledge of vehicle CAN and diagnostics systems with a thorough working knowledge of Thermal processes, calibration software & protocols, instrumentation and data logging.
2.Managing vehicle planning, developing data and experience driven conclusions, result preparation and presentation and written/verbal reporting.
3.The ability to lead technical issue resolution and development projects with the support of the T&D team, CAE teams, Technical Specialists and any external parties.
