The Company:
Subsidiary of major energy company, operating offshore gas fields and onshore gas processing terminals.

The Role:
C&I Project Engineer
Location: Heysham/Barrow occasional Offshore

To project engineer or support the management of individual engineering projects in terms of Cost, Schedule, Quality and Risk, in so doing to co-ordinate project activity of contractors and internal departments. Additionally support the development and maintenance of world class project engineering / management processes
Individual projects can range in size from very minor (£k) up to £5m.
Up to 10 individual projects may be managed at any one time.
Includes onshore and offshore projects.
Teams of up to 5 direct reports and larger contract company teams could be under direct supervision for the duration of a project.
Line management of Project Support Engineers.
Deputise when required for the Lead C&I Project Engineer.
Ensuring all projects are conducted in compliance with the Clients project management and engineering management of change procedures.
Responsible for the definition, planning, securing approved funding and identifying resource requirements of the projects. People resource will be drawn from either the engineering contractor, agencies or internal resource.
Responsible for delivering the projects to agreed schedule, cost and quality.
Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate project controls for the projects; Cost, Schedule, Quality, Change and Risk. Reporting to the Lead C&I Project Engineer and/or Project Manager (weekly summary and monthly detailed).
Lead and co-ordinate multi-disciplined teams both during the study, design, workpack and close-out phases of projects. Provide project engineering support during implementation on site.
Responsible for ensuring handover and commissioning plans are in place to assure technical integrity and operational readiness. Includes responsibility for project close-out the Clients procedures.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Clients project management and engineering management of change procedures.
Development and implementation of commercial strategy with the commercial nominee to support projects.
Assist with the mentoring and development of other staff project engineers and project support engineers.
Responsible for the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) performance of projects, ensuring HSEQ plans/controls are developed and implemented to assure the safety of personnel, plant and the environment and legislative compliance.
Key influence on project HSEQ performance, from initiation through design, implementation and close-out.
Highly motivated and flexible individual capable of rising to the challenges of a demanding project programme.
Organised and able to plan & manage a number of simultaneous projects whilst maintaining compliance with the clients processes and procedures.
Excellent communication and influencing skills with an ability to interact well at all levels within the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Holder of an approved Instrumentation apprenticeship OR an Instrumentation engineering graduate or similar who has achieved or is working towards Chartered status.
Project engineering or project management experience within the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry.
