The Company:
Our Client is a major operating company currently involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas onshore in Kuwait.

The Role:
Our Client is currently seeking a Category Specialist to lead a cross-functional Category Team in the development and execution of supply chain strategies for their project in Kuwait.

This is a residential position with an estimated duration of 2 years.

Duties include:

a. Facilitate the Category Team in the analysis of JO spend, JO business requirements and associated market capability in order to define sourcing strategy, contracting strategy and supplier management strategy for each product / service line assigned. Identify and prioritize opportunities to create value.
b. Lead strategic sourcing events for high priority product / service lines including the market analysis, supplier analysis, development of weighted selection criteria and associated questions (RFI / RFP), supplier evaluation, negotiation planning and execution, supplier implementation plans and award recommendations.
c. Work with Customer groups to develop an Annual Contracting and Procurement Plan.
d. Provide input to the annual update of the Cost of Goods and Services report.
e. Facilitate the development of supplier KPI’s and scorecard with Category Team and suppliers. Coordinate the measurement of supplier performance and facilitate supplier performance review meetings in collaboration with contract owners. Facilitate issue resolution between supplier and customer groups. Assist in development of supplier performance mitigation plans.
f. Lead / facilitate Advanced Supplier Relationship meetings as appropriate to drive JO performance improvement and value creation.
g. Attend customer group meetings to gain an understanding of their business needs, challenges and future plans.
h. Support special projects and initiatives as directed by the Division Superintendent / Team Leader.

Supervises: Category Analyst

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 5 experience in sourcing / tendering.
Minimum 10 years in supply chain management or Oilfield Operations.
Category Management related experience.
Facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Negotiations experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
