The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company with a global presence playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.They are one of the worlds leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Our client is looking for a Category Specialist accountable for Marine and Logistics to support Australia and International campaigns and projects. Inclusive of strategy, plans, issuing EOI/ tenders and seeking award and post contract award management. The role will contribute to the development of a range of category strategies and drive execution of key deliverables within category plans.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Utilise business, technical and market knowledge to actively review the opportunities and risks and seek support for initiatives that drive value through improvements in the end-to-end supply chain
* Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the business to ensure that sourcing/contracting plans are aligned with wider business objectives
* Perform robust analysis of category demand , expenditure and the relevant supply markets to inform category strategies and plans
* Deliver tangible financial benefits and non-financial benefits
* Develop and execute sourcing / contracting strategies and plans that optimise the commercial outcomes
* Maintain category and supplier performance reporting so that the overall 'health' and progress plan is actively monitored and managed, and corrective actions are undertaken in a timely
* Actively engage key suppliers to drive performance and continuous improvements that deliver tangible and mutual benefits

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Ideally 8 + years' experience
* Tertiary qualifications essential
* Understanding of the Marine and Logistics market
* Strong relationship and communication skills
* Ability to engage with large number of stakeholders respectfully and with integrity
* Ability to be innovative, self-sufficient and inquisitive in formulating effective solutions
* Spend analysis, savvy with CLMS, SAP, aware and up to speed with technology changes and trends
