The Role:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities include the following: Develop and maintain cathodic protection standards, best practices and material specifications. Develop and maintain cathodic protection procedures for installation, commissioning and monitoring. Provide technical reviews for cathodic protection capital projects. Serve on international standards writing bodies as the opportunity allows. Lead value engineering sessions for cathodic protection standards. In cooperation with other involved organizations, perform technical assessments of new manufactures facilities followed by professional documentation for the approval or rejection. Perform periodic technical assessment of existing manufacturing facilities. Develop and implement new cathodic protection technologies. Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields. Actively participate in developing and educating young Saudi Arab engineers and to promote cathodic protection. Deliver technical presentations and write papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects. Lead or be a team member in specialized tasks, such as accident investigation teams, special audit teams, value engineering teams, organizational improvement teams, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following experience, competencies and skillsets:
A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or electrical engineering from an accredited university. Ten years of experience in the oil and gas industry as an engineering specialist in the field of cathodic protection combined with general experience in corrosion control. Must be a certified level 4 NACE Cathodic Protection specialist and active in NACE or other technical committees. Able to work independently or in multidisciplinary, multinational groups. Must be very knowledgeable of national and international code standards. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
