The Company:
Our client is a leading engineering contractor and project integrator for the nuclear industry. They have been at the heart of the UK nuclear industry for more than 50 years. During that time they have designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a wide range of nuclear equipment and plant for both the power generation and defence markets.

The Role:
This post is for a Senior EC&I Engineer to represent the design engineering department during the construction and commissioning phases of a major, multidisciplinary retrofit project in Sellafield. The candidate may also be involved in with other EC&I engineers working on multidiscipline nuclear and process projects .

Job Role

Technical responsibility for enabling the EC&I aspects of the site based activities on the project above and potentially with other projects in the nuclear and process sectors.

Producing /reviewing man-hour estimates for EC&I scope on multi-discipline projects.

Producing and/or reviewing E C & I design package drawings and schedules including: -

Electrical distribution equipment specifications

Vender Technical Specifications

Control Philosophy

User requirement specification

Design Justification reports

I/O, Alarm and Trip Schedules

Equipment data sheets

Vendor package documentation and vender support.

Installation data – Cable block diagrams, cable schedules, termination schedules, Loop diagrams, JB details etc.

Production of site safety and QA documentation.

This will involve the support of the completion of detailed design activities on a current major decommissioning project, interfacing with commissioning services and any required design modifications as these systems are installed and commissioned at Sellafield site.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Established design experience working on relevant nuclear / process plant with a proven record of achievement of technically adequate fit for purpose and cost effective design.

A current Sellafield P4 pass

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates should also have experience of two or more of the following:

Safety Instrumented System / Knowledge of Sellafield safety standard EG 090

Instrumentation selection and specification of instrumentation

Control system design

Electrical distribution specification

Chartered engineer status of a relevant professional body is preferred.
