The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Chassis Controls diagnostics Engineer:
- Analysis of warranty and diagnostic data to monitor effectiveness of existing diagnostics and identification of emerging issues.
- Develop innovative new approaches to diagnostics, work closely with DSP and Chassis Supply base.
- Identify potential diagnostic software requirements based on future model technologies.
- Develop diagnostic strategies capable of being authored for use in Client's ETIS IDS tool Assist the development of diagnostic specifications Represent Chassis Controls at meetings for topics that require diagnostics support Support development and implementation of TSBs, OASIS messages and QSF actions Coordinate actions to introduce Diagnostic processes required to support Job#1 for new programs and OPD actions with Chassis Controls Application Engineers.
Support On-Vehicle and test board development, validation and sign off of diagnostics. Coordinate service software updates with Chassis Controls supplier¿s engineers, EESE and DSP Work with Global team to develop common diagnostics for global platforms

Skills Required:
- Prior experience and use of warranty analysis tools An understanding of service diagnostic tools Data presentation and statistical analysis techniques Experience of CAN and use of the Canalyzer tool and associated software packages.
- Understanding of automotive multiplex systems and distributed functions
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic and end-of line test requirements
- Understanding of failure mode avoidance techniques
- Ability to analyse vehicle control system specifications and develop test methods
- Ability to debug vehicle control interfaces
- Self-motivated with excellent team and leadership skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Willing to travel Persistent in driving issue resolution at suppliers and with all interfacing functions
- Adaptable in overcoming practical issues to complete work packages

Skills Preferred:
- Understanding of Stability Control value added functions Understanding of GPDS deliverables with respect to a control system / software

Experience Required:
- Experience of automotive product development cycle (ideally GPDS)
- Experience of writing functional requirements, developing test methods and test reporting
- Experience of vehicle control system specifications and analysis thereof
- Experience of measurement and analysis using CANalyzer or similar
- Experience of vehicle de-bugging at electrical system level
- Experience of vehicle diagnostic and SWDL tools (DET, GGHD or similar)
- Minimum 3 years driving licence

Experience Preferred:
- Experience with Stability Controls system software or application

Education Required:
BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering
