The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Chassis design and development teams have a number of positions for established and experienced motor industry professionals in the following specialist disciplines:
• Module and Development leaders / Programme Managers
• Design Engineers (Catia V5)
• CAE Engineers including MBS & FE
• Development engineers
• Software Systems Engineers
• Noise Vibration & Harshness Engineers (NVH)
• 6-Sigma qualified Quality engineers (Minitab proficient and Minimum Green Belt qualified with application experience)

Key Responsibilities
Module and Development leaders specializing in:
• Chassis & Brakes system and component introduction including supplier management and introduction to volume production
• Chassis & Brakes development engineers specializing in one of the following aspects of automotive engineering:
o Braking Performance;
o Braking & Chassis refinement (NVH);
o Stability Control System (SCS / ESP / DSC) development,
o Suspension system development / tuning.
• Systems and CAE engineers specializing in one or more of the following:
o Requirements definition (DOORS Requirements management system);
o new function introduction; performance simulation; acoustic and thermal modelling;
o Multi Body Simulation including loads prediction and axle performance analysis (Simpack / ADAMS)
• Design / CAD Engineers with Catia V5 experience (minimum 5 years use)
• Also roles for candidates with Kinematics experience
• Quality Engineers Using design and production data to address chassis quality problems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Strong communication skills as appropriate to an English Language based engineering environment
Ability to confidently present technical issues and resolution plans at senior management levels.
Role specific technical skills
Comprehensive ability to work with MS Office and role specific specialist software applications
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Many roles will require a full driving license for Cat B vehicles.
Development Engineer roles will generally require advanced or high performance driving skills
Considerable post-graduation industrial experience involved in braking system design and performance target achievement working for an automotive manufacturer.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Braking system design to meet legal and internal performance targets for a given vehicle weights and performance
Experience of vehicle test or subjective vehicle evaluation which gained in an automotive test environment with a vehicle manufacturer or first tier supplier
Experience of modelling mechanical system interactions using simulation packages or Excel/VB
Usage of 6-sigma disciplines (DMAIC Structure to problem resolution)
Six Sigma Green belt qualified
